Missing module information in IVLE even after allocation. How can I rectify this?
"I have received notices from CORS or administrators informing me that my module has been allocated, but when I log into IVLE, I cannot see the module. Am I allocated with the module or not? This is causing me a lot of frustration!"
Sound familiar? Fear not. Starting from today, we can put these frustrations at rest by providing you with a new function in IVLE to instantly refresh your modules.
IVLE is a separate IT system from other mainstream undergraduate systems like CORS. As such, an IVLE process has to be scheduled every day to synchronise the data between IVLE and the mainstream systems. Typically after every module allocation process in a CORS bidding round, you will only be able to see your module appearing in IVLE the following day. This limitation is now history. IVLE has introduced a self-service synchronisation function to allow you to perform an immediate update.
All you need to do is to log into IVLE: Under the Modules tab, click on the 'Refresh' button and indicate the academic year and semester you wish to see. The modules you have been allocated with in that academic year and semester will be synchronised over instantly.
Of course, if you still can't see your modules at this juncture, it implies that the allocation has not been done. It may be time for you to call up the relevant faculties or CORS help desk to verify. Our friendly CORS and faculty help desk staff will be most glad to help.
In addition to the above feature, for a module to be visible and clickable by you, the module needs to be created by the lecturer in IVLE. Only then can you click into the module to participate in any of the activities that the lecturer desires to encourage in IVLE. In order to reduce confusion for such cases, the IVLE team has decided to create the module link but have it greyed out. If your lecturer requires you to conduct your course activities in IVLE and the module is greyed out, please dialogue with the respective lecturer for more information.
